Mr. Sylvester Okoh FCA, a staff with the Internal Audit Department of Delta
State University, Abraka, who emerged as Chairman, Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Abraka District for 2017/2018, has said that
he vied for the office because of his passion to serve the institute,
adding that his administration will consolidate on the achievements of
previous executive members.
Okoh speaking to Oasis Magazine (OM) during an exclusive chat in Abraka
added: “If it is God’s will, I know that I will become the National

will increase our membership strength, consolidate on past achievements of
the leaders of the district and also encourage new entrants that want to
become chartered accountants of the ICAN brand.
“For some time now, we have not had new persons become chartered
accountants; we will recruit new members for the institute through our
‘Catch them Young’ programme,” adding humorously that they will also
implement a ‘Catch them Old’ programme for those who are eligible to write
the exam but are afraid to.

Okoh has served Abraka District as Secretary for two years and Secretary in
Abraka being a young and a growing district with Okoh, has had four
presidents, with a membership strength of 30, made up mainly of staff
members from DELSU, Ukwuani Local Government Council and Ozoro Polytechnic.
