By Daniel Dafe
Party leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ward 1 of Ethiope East Local Government Area in Delta State, have said that the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari, Chief Great Ogboru and the Senatorial, House of Reps and House of Assembly candidates in the area, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Chief Solomon Edojah and Chief Innocent Anidi respectively was sure, saying that they have resolved to tirelessly work hard to deliver these candidates in the various units that make up their ward during the forthcoming polls.
Speaking at a general meeting that held on Sunday, 6 January, 2019 in Abraka, the Ward Chairman, Comrade Bernard Emudainohwo, called on the chairmen of the polling units in the ward to work harder since it is the units that deliver the wards.
He said: “Let us work as if we are all candidates,” as he enjoined members to collect their PVCs.
Emudainohwo while commending the party’s guber candidate in the state for his understanding, love and support, urged aggrieved members of the party over the conduct of the congress to sheathe their sword and work for the victory of the party.
Also, the Chairman of the party in the area, Sir Lyndon Ugbome, warned against members seeking the attention of Ogboru in his Abraka residence instead of going to the campaign ground to deliver their units.
According to him, PDP has never won Ethiope East since he became Chairman, adding that it will not be different this time around.
He also assured members that security will be available for them during the elections, saying that it will not be business as usual for PDP and her thugs.
On his part, a party leader in the locality, Chief Clever Egbeji, said: “We have all it takes to win the governorship and presidential elections. So, it is our time.”
In the same vein, Professor Godwin Ogbegbor, said that they were preparing for a huge celebration after the defeat of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, stressing that Ogboru would garner 70 percent of the votes in Delta north constituency.
Other party leaders present at the said meeting include Chief Tedwins Emudainohwo, Coordinator, Ovie Omo-Agege Campaign Organisation, Ethiope East; Hon. Edna Iwhiwhu; Chief Dele Urowaiyino; Hon. Derrick Ogaga, LGA Publicity Chairman and Mrs. Enovwo Emebradu, Women Leader.
