UPU PG Felicitates With New NDDC MD, Congratulates Delta

The President General of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), Worldwide, Chief (Engr.) Joe Omene, has felicitated with Mr. Benard Okumagba over his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari to head the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Chief Omene, who spoke to Oasis Magazine (OM), during an exclusive interview in Mosogar also congratulated the Urhobo ethnic group and Deltans in general for producing the MD of NDDC.

According to him, there was so much work to be done in the Niger Delta and thus called on the new NDDC boss to get to work immediately and use this rare opportunity to continue to contribute his own quota to the development of the Niger Delta region and Nigeria at large.

While stating that he was convinced that the new NDDC MD will not betray the trust reposed in him, he called on him to pursue a rapid development of the region.

Continuing, he called on him to carry all ethnic groups in the region along and put in his best and thus make Urhobo proud with his record-breaking achievements while in office.

He also called on him to carry all Niger Delta states along, as he advised the MD to complete all abandoned projects and come up with new projects that will lift the region and put it at par with developed areas across the world.

He promised to mobilize Urhobo indigenes to support him to enable him perform maximally during his tenure.

He said: “We are ready to partner with you and offer our assistance whenever the need arises. We pledge our further support and look forward to a productive tenure and cooperation as you serve your father land in this new capacity.”

Omene also commended President Muhammadu Buhari over the choice of Okumagba for this office, saying that the president has overtime proven his love for the Urhobo people.

Also, he said that Sen Ovie Omo-Agege was also worthy of congratulations and thanks over his astuteness so far since he emerged the Deputy Senate Present.

Furthermore, he urged the Urhobos to expect the best from the administration of Buhari, as he called on them to support the ‘Next Level’ agenda.
