As part of the palliative measures to cushion the effect of the lockdown, the leader of the youth body of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), Worldwide, Comrade Efemena Umukoro, has donated food items to women in Ujevwe, Egini and Ukpiovwin communities of Udu Local Government Area in Delta State.

This comes after his first visit and presentation to some women and families in DSC and Ovwian communities in the said Local Government Area.

Comrade Umukoro, at Ukpiovwin while addressing recipients of the largesse at the residence of the eldest woman of the community, Mrs. Pawpaw Kpogban, said he is aware of the pain and discomfort caused by the ongoing lockdown to families in Urhobo land and that a lot of persons make ends meet from their daily struggle.

He admonished the women to be prayerful, practice social distancing and adhere to the precautionary directives of the government.
The young activist while distributing the food items to the women encouraged them to see the items as his own little way of giving back to his people, the Urhobos.

The vibrant youth leader also called on well-meaning sons and daughters of Urhobo to contribute their own quota towards helping people in Urhobo Nation at this trying period.

One of the beneficiaries in Ukpiovwin community and the Woman Leader in the area, Mrs. Okovwurie Oghiavoma, who spoke on behalf of the recipients, appreciated the president immensely for extending his kind gestures and generosity to them in this frightening period of the pandemic.
