Chief London Akpanoko Congratulates HRM Monday Whiskey, As Okowa Presents Staff Of Office To Him

Former kingship aspirant and illustrious son of Idjerhe Kingdom in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, and the Ugo of the Kingdom, Chief London Owhofasa Akpanoko, has congratulated His Royal Majesty King Monday Whiskey, Udurhie 1 of the Kingdom, on the presentation of the staff of office to him by the Delta State government, charging him to work with the people of the kingdom as well as the state government to successfully actualise his lofty dream for the development of Idjerhe land and the state.

The businessman also urged the monarch to strengthen the existing bond of unity and peace in Idjerhe land for the overall development and progress of the kingdom, adding that his passion for the development of Idjerhe as a whole, will be successful only if he works with the people and other constituted authorities in the land and state.

Akpanoko who was speaking at the presentation of staff of office to the new monarch at Idjerhe Grammer School, today, 26/10/2020 by the Delta State Deputy Governor, Barrister Kingsley Burutu Otuaro who represented Senator Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa also expressed satisfaction with the selection process, adding Whiskey was clearly the people’s choice.

“I respect the recommendation of the committee that was set up and I also respect the due process that was followed and the choice of the people, I am using this opportunity to call on all Idjerhe sons and daughters to support the new monarch, I also want to commend the role the of two great leaders in Idjerhe Kingdom, the former House of Rep member representing Ethiope Federal, Hon Halims Agoda, and the Executive Director for Finance and Administration of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Chief Barr John Nani for the role they played in bringing peace to the kingdom, he also thanked members of Idjerhe Elite Forum for playing a key role in the Kingship process, adding that if not for their timely intervention the kingdom would still be talking of a king. ”

Chief London Owhofasa Akpanoko also urged all aggrieved person who have filed litigation in the court of law to withdraw their cases and embrace peace and work in synergy with the new king to ensure prosperity and move the kingdom forward.

Dignitaries who witnessed the coronation include His Majesty, Orhue 1, Major Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (retd) the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom,
the Ovie of Oghara Kingdom, HRM Noble Eshimetan, Orefe III, Idjerhe sons and daughters and notable dignitaries from all walks of life.
