A journalist in Delta State, Kenneth Orusi, has called on the executive of the Delta State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) to bar every journalist from covering activities of Delta State Government just like they did to the Police Command in the state.

Recall that the Mike Ikeogwu-led executive of the NUJ, Delta Council, barred the coverage of police activities in the state over their non-challance after a photojournalist with Vanguard was assaulted by a police officer.

His words: “The Delta state government didn’t waste time to intervene between the NMA and the military but kept mute over police brutality on an NUJ member.

“I call on the leadership of NUJ to also place a ban so that journalists would stop covering Delta government activities.

“I know this call will not hold water.”
