NANS/JCC Delta Axis: Obi To Chair 2021 Convention Planning Committee, As Dio, Others Make List

National Association of Nigerian Students, Joint Campus Committee (NANS/JCC), Delta Axis, has announced the names of those in charge of the 2021 convention of the body in the state.

A statement signed by Comrade Ossai Chika Kessy, NANS Leader, Delta State, said that the planning committee will be chaired by Pedro Chibuzo Obi, while Omote Kelly will function as the Secretary.

Adding that other members are Dio Oghale Emeka Rex, Okonye Gift Chidebere, Agberia Precious Takufia, Omoniyi Freedom and Godwin Emuejevoke.

According to the statement, the said members will plan and organize the convention that will ensure that a new leadership for the body emerges, saying that the selection of the 6-man committee was done after thorough consultation.

Kessy tasked the members to consult and hold meetings with relevant stakeholders within the students’ movement on impartial modalities to be adopted in organizing a hitch-free convention.

They also are expected to “liaise with security agencies and related educational, health departments and secure necessary approvals required for hosting a befitting convention.”

Furthermore, the committee is also to secure a venue for the successful hosting of the convention, fix a date for the convention, and create a respectable relationship amongst aspirants through confidence building and transparent approach in the planning and organizing of the convention.

The state NANS leader also urged the committee to ensure that no aspirant is subjected to ill-treatment, urging them to screen all aspirants by confirming their studentship.

While congratulating the chairman and other members of the 2021 NANS/ JCC Delta axis CPC, he warned that the committee does not in any way supplant any organ of NANS or constitute a parallel body to the existing leadership.

He noted that the assignment is tasking, rigorous, requires dedication and commitment, but said that the entire student constituency has unflinching trust in their capacity to deliver.
