A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State and erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has alleged that Abe and Aguma are recruiting thugs to disrupt the party’s membership registration exercise in the state across wards if the court fails to grant them their “satanic plea.”

This is ahead of the membership registration and revalidation exercise of the All Progressives Congress, scheduled to commence Monday, 25 January, 2021.

In a statement on Thursday, Chief Eze said that “intelligence reports have exposed plots by former Rivers South/East Senator, Magnus Abe and his circle of saboteurs, to unleash terror on party faithful in their various Wards and disrupt the exercise through the machinery of paid hoodlums if the Court fails to give them favourable judgement stopping the exercise.”

Also, Chief Eze said “the plot has been sealed as a ‘plan B’ to alternate their failed device of halting the party exercise through the acquisition of a premature and overweening court injunction.”

According to him, the aim of the scheme “is to justify the refusal of Sen. Abe, Igo Aguma and others to participate in the registration and revalidation program of the party, given that the exercise will serve as the only valid means through which one can prove his membership of the progressives party and no more.”

Adding: “Sen. Magnus Abe and his cohorts have been in the news lately over their continued blatant refusal to adhere to the directive of President Mohammadu Buhari and the national leadership of the party especially, the order directing party members across the country to withdraw all pending law suits against the party and utilize other means of dispute resolution provided in the constitution of the APC.”

He continued: “In his usual self-willed and perversely unyielding carriage, Sen. Abe has also shunned the Oyegun led Reconciliation Committee of the South/South All Progressives Congress, recently constituted to settle all individual and group differences and restore harmony within the party in the region and has proceeded in his gross recalcitrance, to set up a pseudo party structure against all known standards of civilized behavior.

“However, the APC National Caretaker Committee has assured that the party will work with only inaugurated state caretaker committee chairmen across the states ahead of the planned membership revalidation/registration.

“One of the Committee members said Governor Mai Mala Buni will handover approved list to Yahaya Bello-led committee to ensure conduct of hitch-free exercise.”

Speaking further, he said “Barr. Isaac Abbot Ogbobula and other State Caretaker Chairmen sworn-in on December 11, 2020 will liaise with the membership revalidation/registration committee to aid preparation for the exercise so anybody or interested member desiring to sustain his/her membership of APC and is dealing with Abe or any of his cohorts such a fellow is strictly doing so at his/her own peril.”

Chief Eze said it became necessary for the interest of the party and general public good to alert security agents and members of the public of the looming danger, in order for necessary steps to be employed to disappoint disgruntled Abe and his cohorts who have been discomfited, having lost out from the battle to halt the wheel of progress of the Rivers APC.

He admonished Abe, Aguma and their conspirators to desist from acts capable of instigating crisis and raising unnecessary tension.

Eze cautioned youths against making themselves available as Abe’s dogs of vandals, stressing that such indulgence would mean a great harm to their lives and bleak their futures.

While calling on security agencies to adequately mobilize to police registration points in Abe’s town, Beera, Gokana local government area, Chief Eze enjoined party members to continue in their preparation for the membership drive which kicks off Monday, 25 January, 2021, assuring a hitch-free outing not minding the efforts of PDP agents parading themselves as APC members to sabotage the excerise.
