It was a moment of joy at Imesi-Ile High School on Wednesday when hundreds of students were given notebooks and reading materials by a former student of the school, Mr Kunle Adeoti, Chairman, Eliride Foundation.

Addressing the students, Mr Adeoti thanked the Almighty God for how far he has taken him in life, going on to also show appreciation to teachers who taught him several years back in the school.

“I have enjoyed the grace of God,” he declared, adding that “who could have thought I will become what I am today?”

Continuing, he said “I left this school in 1994. Though the road has been so rough, but here we are today giving back to my alma mater. I want to encourage you to be focused in your academic pursuit. I can assure you that more are still coming.”

In his goodwill message, the Director, Kunle Adeoti Eliride Foundation, Tunde Aluko urged students to take their education serious as nothing can be compared to having a good education, which informed the interest of the foundation.

“Dear students, I want implore you to be the best in your educational career,” he admonished the students, pointing out that “Today, we all read about Dr Okonjo Iweala, the Director General, World Trade Organisation and Dr Akinwumi Adeshina, President, African Development Bank. We can only talk about their feats because they have good educational background.”

Speaking at the event, the Local Inspectorate of Education, Obokun Local government, Mrs Olatunde implored the students to be more dedicated to their studies, noting that “You can only become successful in life if you are able to focus on your education.”

She added that what we are witnessing today was as a result of commitment and forthrightness of Mr Kunle Adeoti, saying “If he has not gave his best while in this school, he might not be able to give back today.”

“We must be ready to give our best so as to become the best in the nearest future.” she said.

Present at the occasion are the former students of the school who showered encomium on the laudable programme organised by Kunle Adeoti Eliride Foundation, saying this is worthy of emulation for those who have passed through the four corners of this school.
