We Can Resolve Our Crisis, Leave Us Alone, Delta APC Tells Oyegun
By Daniel Dafe, Abraka
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, has accused the erstwhile national Chairman of the Party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun of concluding plans to nominate leaders for the Party in Delta State and thereby plunging the Party in the State in another round of crisis, saying he must leave Delta APC alone.
A statement signed by
O.S. Imonina Esq, Publicity Secretary, said it “should be noted that it was this same Oyegun who as national Chairman created the numerous crises that has been bedevilling the Party which resulted in the Party experiencing tremendous losses at the 2019 general elections.”
Delta APC added that “it is therefore quite disheartening that the said Oyegun is now at the forefront of plunging the Party in the State into another round of turmoil at a time when the Party is just coming out of such parochial battles. It is clear that this present action of the former national Chairman will spell doom for the Party and we wonder what he stands to gain from his machiavellian tactics of tearing the Party apart in Delta State.”
According to the statement, “the point must be emphasized that the constitution of our great Party is very clear on who is in charge of the affairs of the Party in the State and that is the State Chairman in the person of Prophet Jones Ode Erue.”

“As a former national Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun should be aware that there is no constitutional provisions which gives him the powers to nominate and/or appoint leaders of the Party. Perhaps Chief John Odigie-Oyegun is still clinging to and maybe suffering from the vestiges of lost power as a former national Chairman,” the statement said.
Adding: “The Party in the State wants to sound loud and clear, that Chief John Odigie-Oyegun should leave Delta State APC alone and resolve the challenges that is facing his home State of Edo where he has become a persona non grata due to his perchant for creating needless problems and as the proverbial saying goes, he should remove the log in his eyes before looking at the speck in another person’s eyes. He should leave Delta APC to resolve what differences there is and not to bring destruction to the Party in the guise of making peace.”
Delta APC therefore called on the national leadership of the Party “to call Chief John Odigie-Oyegun to order and to desist from his present act of shenanigan.”
