Yahoo Boys: Relocate To Asaba, Delta Journalist Tells EFCC
By Daniel Dafe, Abraka
Popular Delta journalist and Publisher, Secret Reporters, Fejiro Oliver has called on the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to raid Asaba Hotels immediately, adding that the capital city had been taken over by Internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘Yahoo Boys’.
In a Facebook post on Saturday titled: ‘Dear EFCC, please raid Asaba Hotels ASAP’, Comrade Oliver said that “apart from Lagos, no other states produce the number of internet fraudsters AKA yahoo boys or G boys like Delta State.”
According to him, “there is no street in Delta, especially Asaba that you won’t see them staying.”
He continued: “The annoying thing is that these boys are kids from 15 to 40 years. Almost all the hotels, especially the ones in DBS road and Mariam Babangida road have been taken over by them. They book the whole rooms and stay there to carry out the business of yahoo.”

Adding: “The EFCC has to immediately relocate to Asaba especially one hotel called LEISURE CASTLE along DBS road opposite Orchid Hotel, where those guys stay and are treated like kings by its management. The EFCC should raid the hotel and if possible shut it down.”
He said: “Bawa, as a friend, I advise you to create an office in Asaba because of these Yahoo boys and corrupt politicians.
“These Yahoo boys have made houses expensive in Asaba. A two bedroom flat now goes for N900k to N1.5M annually. These guys don’t negotiate the prices of house rent. Once a landlord tell them the amount, they transfer to him. They stay for one year, play music, run generator all day long while pressing laptop, cause nuisance in the compound and pack out to a new place. Houses are now scared to rent in Asaba. They stay in the house while maintaining rooms in these hotels.”
Furthermore, he said that “Leisure Castle and its like that knows about these socks and slippers wearing boys should be raided daily and suspected Yahoo boys arrested. We have to rid Asaba of these criminals. We have to cleanse Asaba of these fraudsters causing pains to family,” saying that those “who want to practice such should relocate abroad not to Asaba.”
