2023 Guber: Encomium, As Delta Great Movement Throws Weight Behind Augoye
Ahead of the 2023 gubernaitorial election in the state, the leadership and members of a formidable political pressure group known as Delta Great Movement, DGM, has called on the immediate past Commissioner for Works, Hon. Chief James Augoye, to indicate interest in the 2023 Governorship and asserted that experience cannot be substituted and the right man who has the political will and enablement to consolidate and advance on Governor Okowa’s massive developmental strides and political legacy across the 25 local government areas of Delta State is Hon. Chief James Augoye.
The State Coordinator, Chief Mathew Kwode, who made this call at Wetland Hotel in Ughelli, recently during the group’s inaugural meeting, stated that James Augoye is a quintessential and unassuming personality with huge traits of excellent performance and unbeatable track records in public services and party politics.
Kwode noted that James Augoye is a replica of His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa and that governance is all about continuity, sustainability, consolidation and advancement.
The coordinator, while thanking the leadership of Delta State PDP for maintaining and sustaining the power rotation arrangements which have enhanced peaceful coexistence among the three senatorial districts of Delta State, explained that Augoye who is an astute, detribalised and experienced politician from Delta Central Senatorial district will perform well and consolidate on Okowa’s unique administration.

He then used the medium to appeal to Deltans across the 25 local government areas of the State to support Augoye 2023 Governorship for the overall growth and development of Delta.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the 25 LGA’s of the state.
In their various response, they urged all other aspirants to put the interest of the State first before personal interest and support James Augoye, come 2023.
The group while commending Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for bringing to bear his wealth of knowledge and experience in the management of the affairs of Delta State since 2015 till date and still counting which have brought about massive growth and development to the Delta State, prayed for a stronger Delta State.
Present at the event include: Chief Jonathan Orogun from Patani LGA, Chief Andrew Oyovwirayen from Udu LGA, Dr. Godfrey Enita, former Chairman Sapele Local Government Council, Hon. Austin Obia, youth leader, Ika South LGA.
