The Ovie of Oruarivie-Abraka Kingdom, HRM UKU Odjevworo Akpomeyoma, Ojeta II, on Saturday, November 6, 2021, conferred a chieftaincy title on Efe Erakpotobor.
The new chief is son to The Avwerorotovie of Oruarivie-Abraka kingdom, High Chief Peterman Erakpotobor.
The event which held at the palace of the monarch, attracted family members, friends and well-wishers.
Erakpotobor, who by this honour became the youngest chief in the kingdom, bagged the title of Omo-vogho of Oruarivie-Abraka Kingdom, meaning ‘a humble child.’
Speaking to Oasis Magazine exclusively, Chief Efe thanked the monarch for the honour, just as he appreciated all for the support he enjoyed during the preparation for the ceremony.
While calling on youths to be inspired by the honour done him, he said a few persons that learnt of the program wondered why he accepted to be a chief at a young age.

He continued: “People have asked me “you are a young guy, we know what it costs to be a Chief; why are you taking this title?” I have never really given anybody an answer but I will like to give an answer now. Everyone born from a particular community or kingdom is a free born. For those who are recognized by the palace and given a title or some other form of name in terms of responsibility, they are FULL born. These are the future leaders of that community who are custodians of the tradition and defenders of the tradition, etc. When you remove academics and religion what is left is tradition. Even a man of the clothes mentioned to me, “why are you taking this Chieftaincy title?” I smiled; I didn’t give an answer to him but I will like to give such persons an answer now; If everyone was equal as they say, they wouldn’t have had Chief priest and High priests as it is in the scriptures.
“There are priests and there are Chief priests; there are judges and also Chief judges. Everybody cannot be a judge that can begin to say anything. Some people must be above other persons. By the grace of God, at a time like this in my life, I am wearing this royal cloth not for funeral but in celebration of a new name given to me by God himself, the palace which is the king and the entire Oruarivie Abraka community. It’s a big honour.”
