Ukwuani Legislative Arm Crisis: Osaeliogo Blames Immediate Past LGA Chair, As PDP Wades In
By Daniel Dafe
Hon Clarius Osaeliogo, leader of Ukwuani Legislative Arm, has reacted to a publication by one Otutu Chuks said to be a Media Aide to Hon Chukwudi Dafe that alleged that there was a stalemate in the meeting that the PDP LGA chairman, Engr Patrick Kaine called for the councillors to discuss the current crisis that is rocking Ukwuani Legislative Arm.
Osaeliogo who spoke through a statement signed by Omali Mayor Ifeakachuku, Personal Assistant on Specially Duty to Osaeliogor (Media and Publicity), said “the purported post is highly misleading and a mere figment of the imagination of Chuks Otutu and his pay masters who are hell bent on causing crisis in Ukwuani LGA using councillors that are on sojourn.”

He added: “For the records, in the meeting with Engr Patrick Kaine, the leader of the house, Rt Hon Clarius Osaeliogo told the leaders of LGA party executives in Ukwuani and councillors that he will soon convene the sitting of the house with the full presence of all the security representatives in Ukwuani LGA.”
Furthermore, he called on the general public and Ukwuani people in particular “to disregard the misleading post by Chuks Otutu who is obviously acting out the script written by his boss Hon Chukwudi Dafe who happens to be the brian behind the current crisis rocking Ukwuani Legislative Arm which aims at destabilizing Bar. Possible led administration just like the way he has done to previous administrations.”
According to the statement, “the fact remains that the impeachment move against Rt Hon Clarius Osaeliogo as the leader of the house failed woefully, instead the councillors made the impeachment move at one of government quarters in Asaba which is outside the legislative chambers which didn’t follow legislative process.”
“It should be on record that Engr. Patrick Kaine understands that he does not have the powers to conduct election of any sort. However, we thank him for mediating but he does not have the constitutional power to conduct election of any sort,” the statement said.
Continuing, Osaeliogo said “it is highly laughable and condemnable that in this 21st century, some councillors will sit down in a beer parlour to impeach the leader of a house that was duly elected in the legislative chambers. This goes to prove how desperate Hon Chukwudi Dafe and his cohort are willing to go to distabilize Ukwuani LGA for their selfish interest.”
