As Another US Travel Advice Exposes Nigeria As A Failed State
The latest US travel advisory discouraging her citizens from visiting Nigeria is nothing but the truth.
The concerns raised by the US expose Nigeria as a failed state due to the greed and insensitivity of her leaders.
It is sad that the United States of America has come up with another travel advice for her citizens considering travel to Nigeria, and the predictable warning is that Nigeria remains a “no go area.’
From collapsed roads, to rickety vehicles, hospitals without basic facilities, through absence of potable water to insecurity and endemic corruption among individuals and public institution, the US has again warned its citizens against travelling to Nigeria.
Given the precision with which the concerns raised reflect the reality of the prevailing state of the nation, the US travel advice exposes Nigeria as a failed state where the leadership is blinded by greed and self glorification that they have negligible regards for the primary responsibility of safeguarding the welfare, wellbeing, lives and property of the citizenry.
Nigeria’s image is stinking and the recklessness and impunity of her politicians is disgusting. Nigeria no longer has any public image other than being known for corruption and as the poverty capital of the whole world.
Since 1999 to date, the nation’s political class in successive leadership have willfully appropriated the commonwealth at the detriment of the majorly deprived Nigerians. They have meant no good. They induce hunger as weapon to tame the masses.
After destroying the country, they patronise foreign schools for their children. They patronise foreign hospitals to treat the least of ailments. They buy houses, spend vacation in foreign countries, escalating massive capital flight while the poor masses groan helplessly.
The US Embassy has, by its honest travel advisory, vindicated us for standing out to speak truth to power in the Nigerian state. With charlatans, greedy lots and desperadoes continually hanging to power by hook and crook, it had increasingly become difficult to have rational Nigerians fight for power.
Few days ago, a famous good governance advocate, Smart Ofugara, said Nigeria needs to be re-colonised. He made a point. Nigeria today is in her worst political era since 1960. Human conscience has become scarce among the political class, gullible followers alike.
The US travel advisory on Nigeria is nothing but the truth. It is really shameful that Nigerian politicians are shameless and heartless.
