DTSG Has Been Supportive To NPC – Odibo

The Honorable Commissioner Representing Delta State at the Board of National Population Census ( NPC ) Chief ( Sir ) Odibo has remarked that Delta State Government has been supportive to the commission.

He made the remarks at a press conference during the Delta State level training workshop for field personnel on trial census for the 2023 population and housing census at Ughelli North Local Government Council Secretariat, Ughelli , Ughelli North Local Government Area on Monday 27th June , 2023.

While appreciating Delta State Government for the support, the NPC Commissioner in his response to a question , made it clear that he was non partisan in the discharge of his duties.”

“I am a father to all,” he added.

Odibo then solicited for the support and cooperation of the stakeholders for the NPC functionaries during the exercise.

Odibo however stated that he belonged to the All Progressive Congress( APC) and that the 2023 Delta State All Progressive Grand Alliance ( APGA ) governorship candidate, Chief Great Ogboru and his All Progressive Congress ( APC) counterpart, Deputy Senate President ( DPS ) Ovie Omo-Agege were his friends.

He had earlier in his welcome address to stakeholders and functionaries, stated that wel come trial census would enable NPC test and validate the various processes of the 2023 census methodology.
Odibo explained that the commission randomly selected one local government from each state in each of the 6 geopolitical zones that will be covered fully.u
He added that 9 localities spread over 9 local government areas in each state were to be covered partially in the exercise.

“In Delta State for fairness, 3 local government areas have been selected randomly from each of the senatorial district ; in Delta North, the localities selected are Aniocha North – Idemeje Unor , Ndokwa East – Umuleke – v
