Obaseki Pays Harmonized Pension To Edo Retirees
In fulfillment of the implementation of the harmonized pension announced on Workers’ Day, Governor Godwin Obaseki has paid verified pensioners in the state their pension for the month of June, reflecting the harmonized rate.
In a statement, Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie said: “With the approval of the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki for the harmonization of monthly pension, retirees with the state government who took part in the last verification exercise held across the state, have been paid their pension for the month of June, today, June 27, 2022, reflecting the harmonized rate.”
He added, “The payment of the harmonized pension to the verified retirees is in line with the government’s commitment to provide succour to pensioners, who are overburdened with the weight of the harsh economic realities in the country.”

Governor Obaseki had on Workers Day announced the payment of harmonized pension to retirees in the state after 21 years, as well as the increment of the minimum wage in the state from N30,000 to N40,000.
