Afiesere Vocational Training Center Completes First Stream, Graduates 85 Persons

The Afiesere Vocational Education Training Center, that was opened late last year by the Governor Okowa led administration for the training of youths in the state, had recently completed the first stream, with 85 graduands in different vocation.
Addressing invited guests and the graduands at the graduation ceremony, the administrator of the center, Madam Lizzy Ajobo commended the governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for deeming it fit to revitalize all the vocational training centers across the state.
Madam Lizzy Ajobo highlighted the importance of the vocational training center to the youths and even adults, saying it was a means through which the gap between the available jobs and the job seekers could be closed.

She explained that vocational education was a form of education where trainees were taught to be creative with their minds and hands, thereby making them skill craftsman and women.
Ajobo appealed to young jobless university graduates out there to avail themselves the opportunity to learn a vocation and become self employed, just as she added that life was about learning new things, which was one of the avenues for progress and human development.
One of the graduands, Mr Oscar Egor who spoke to our correspondent during the ceremony commended the governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for the different youths development programme in the state.
He promised to use the skills acquired in the Afiesere training center to alleviate himself from poverty.
