Although details are still sketchy, Oasis Magazine learnt that the people of Ukpai swung into action and had him arrested.

Kido has been handed over to the police and has made confessional statement.

In his confessional video obtained by Oasis Magazine, the boy said: “he came to meet me in the farm where I was working, he wanted to take the cutlass because we are not in good term, when he carried the cutlass that he will cut, I used the firewood to block him, I then used the firewood to hit him.

“As he was falling, his phone fell from him, I then collected the phone. I didn’t know he will die.

“It was firewood I used. When I was going to the farm, everybody saw me, I was not carrying anything”.

Asked how many times he used the firewood on the father, he said: “three times”, lamenting that he was ignorant that his action would cost him the life of his father.

Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, confirmed the ugly incident
