Ossisa Youths Give Gov Okowa 48Hrs Ultimatum To Continue Road Project

Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta State and vice presidential candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), “has been given a 48-hour deadline to resume work on the Ossisa community road project in Delta State.”

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was named the second-place finisher in the 2023 Presidential election, according to Vanguard, which concluded on February 25. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, “was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, while other candidates trailed.”

According to vanguard, The youngsters said that, “Okowa allegedly instructed the contractor building the Ossisa community road to stop work and depart the site after the results of the 2023 presidential election.”

In a statement released on Friday and jointly signed by the Ndukwa National Youth Movement’s Secretary General, Idi Presley Ifeanyichukwu, and its President, Onwubolu Benjamin, “the youths warned Governor Okowa not to compromise the welfare of the Ndokwa people for political gain.”

Part of the statement states, “For starters, when we saw the contractor bringing in heavy equipment to the site during this time leading up to elections, we suspected foul play, but we chose to give Okowa a chance to demonstrate that his animosity for the Ndokwa Nation has subsided. A leopard, alas, will never alter its spots,”

Vanguard further reported, “We are pleading with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa not to compromise the welfare of our people. The failure of his misguided campaign to become vice president is not the fault of the Ossisa community. He was rejected by his own kin.”

No of your political affiliation, “we are pleading with all Ndokwa Nation children to give their voices in support of the development of our villages. Because this is our territory, we should put the needs of our people first.”

Last but not least, “we want to make it very plain to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa that if he doesn’t order the contractor back to the job site and continue it within the next 48 hours, he should be prepared to deal with the wrath of Ndokwa youths,” they added.
