Senate Presidency: Umahi, Ndume Step Down For Akpabio
Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi and Senator Ali Ndume have stepped down for Senator Akpabio in the race for the Senate Presidency.
Both aspirants for the Senate Presidency withdrew yesterday after meeting with Akpabio who was accompanied by Senator Barau and other APC Senators-elect at Ebonyi State Government House.
Umahi said, ” My brother (Akpabio) came on consultation with me but yesterday, I saw the President-elect, Bola Tinubu on his invitation and he told me that he’s already committed. He said, Please don’t run and I accepted to step down for Senator Akpabio for Senate President and Senator Barau for Deputy Senate President.

Meanwhile, Senator Ali Ndume has also stepped down for Godswill Akpabio and is leading the campaign for Godswill Akpabio.
Ndume said he’s leading the campaign for Akpabio because he’s the President-elect, Bola Tinubu’s candidate and we have to put the interest of the country and the party above any other interest.
