…… Accuses Expelled Dr. Cairo Ojougboh As Sponsor Of Petition

By Daniel Dafe

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State has reacted to the petition written to President Bola Tinubu that said Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, the governorship candidate of the party in the state worked against APC during the presidential polls, describing the petition as “an utterly disgusted, scornful and most insidious petition addressed to the President of the Republic by a traitorous and slanderous group led by the expelled and disgraced former member of the party Dr. Cairo Ojougboh that is diabolically calculated to embarrass and ridicule” Agege.

A statement signed by Valentine Onojeghuo Esq, State Publicity Secretary, APC, Delta State, said: “It is important to emphasize that the author and sponsor of this scandalous petition, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh was recently unceremoniously expelled from the APC for his ignoble acts of anti-party activities and numerous treacherous dealings with opposition parties.”

Adding: “It is therefore not surprising that in his customary behavioural pattern, he has now put down in writing a frivolous and fictitious petition concocted from his twisted and delirious imagination, addressed to the President of the Republic. In this episode of his rambunctious notoriety, he has recruited his erstwhile PDP co-travelers in this show of shame to join in his sinking boat of filth.”

According to the statement, it is a fact that “Dr. Cairo Ojougboh has been an unrestrained battering ram of sorts to every political party or organization he has signed on to, noting: “He has by the extant petition, continued his campaign of hate, calumny and wickedness as a fall out and pay back after his expulsion from the party. The expulsion itself has been ratified by the National Executive Committee of our great party.”

“A casual perusal of the bland and empty petition, it is safe to assume that Cairo Ojougboh in his manic desperation to secure a political appointment in this new dispensation under Mr. President, will do worse than these in the days to come and is demonically prepared to travel the ends of the earth to fetch hate, calumny and destruction for his dubious self aggrandizement and to cause the disaffection between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu against Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, the governorship candidate of the APC in the last election in a bid to destroy the support and good will he needs on the dispute against the wrongfully declared winner of the governorship election being challenged in court,” the party said.

Continuing,APC stated “that the signatories of the obnoxious petition in question are not members of the state executive committee of the party as claimed in their letter, but known PDP members in Delta State who were recruited by Dr. Cairo Ojougboh for the purpose of executing his nefarious agenda of cheap blackmail.”

“It is on record that the signatories of the petition are nothing more than the bedroom executives of Dr. Cairo Ojougboh who has come to grisp with the magnitude of his inglorious expulsion from the party, desperate has resorted to more mischievous tactics to deceitfully endear himself to our new president by feeding him with gossip, hate and calumny against genuine and hard working members of the APC in Delta state.

“Dr. Cairo Ojougboh who is no longer a member of our party and his band of collaborators are party refuseniks and dissidents being used for levying vengeance, hatred and running down our governorship candidate Sen Ovie Omo-Agege.

“There is no doubt that Dr. Cairo Ojougboh is devilishly determined to achieve his diabolic purpose of impersonating and disparaging the legally and duly recognized state executive committee led by Elder Omeni Sobotie and the governorship candidate Sen Ovie Omo-Agege in order to deceitfully curry favour from the president and secure appointments for himself and his dissident co-conspirators who neither worked for nor deserve any appointments,” the.party said.

Meanwhile, the party urged the president to “kindly note that even while these men were suckering up to the national executive committee and the presidential campaign council during the campaigns, they were also busy at home taking active steps in undermining the prospect of the Party in Delta State by openly collaborating with the opposition to defeat APC candidates in the various state and national elections.”

Furthermore, Delta State APC said “that these men are traitors and impostors who did not work for or make any meaningful contributions to the party during elections. They set up parallel structures and contact groups which worked against the success of APC candidates in Delta state. These facts have all been proven in the evidence presented to the NEC of our great Party which led to the final expulsion of Dr. Cairo Ojougboh from the APC.”

Delta State APC therefore called on Mr. President to ignore any appeal from Dr. Cairo Ojougboh and his cohorts to be compensated with offers of government appointment as doing so to these treacherous men is to reward disloyalty and perfidy.

These men are fifth columnists, cavorting with the opposition to induce losses in many assured constituencies in Delta state. The mischievous collaboration with the enemy included the theft of the governorship election from our very popular candidate Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege.

“Delta State APC calls on Dr. Cairo Ojougboh and his co-distractors to substantiate their claims of working for the Party during the elections by showing the world their units and wards results that contributed to the success of the Party as he cannot reap where he did not sow. So far, the only notable contribution of Dr. Cairo Ojougboh and his group, is to be caught on videography and photographs joining members of the opposition to celebrate the electoral losses of the Party in the State.

“Regrettably, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh’s present campaign of calumny is borne out of the illusory hope of discrediting the plethora of anti-party evidence against him, that led to the publishing of photos of Sen Ovie Omo-Agege with Dr. Godwin Emefiele or Peter Obi which they themselves printed during the campaigns or helped candidates of other parties to produce in order to defeat APC candidates in Delta state. To state that it was Senator Ovie Omo-Agege who persuaded Godwin Emefiele to join the presidential race is to regale the nation with a tale as told by an idiot. We trust that Mr President himself knows the truth in the story of Emefiele’s foray in politics,” the party said.

The statement concluded: “We urge His Excellency to ignore the rantings of Dr. Cairo Ojougboh and his gang of detractors. They are unnecessary distractions to your onerous task of nation building ahead.

“Please accept the assurances of the unalloyed loyalty and support of the Delta State chapter of the APC to your government as you focus on the challenges of building a new and better Nigeria.

“APC, Renewed Hope!!!”
