Rumuwoji Mile One Market Set To Open January

Rivers State Government has assured that the Rumuwoji mile 1 Market will be opened for use before the end of January 2024.

The governor , Sir Siminalayi Fubara disclosed this during a thank-you visit to markets on Thursday, December 28, 2023.

Represented at the visit by His Youthfulness Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria for Rivers State and the South-South zone, Governor Fubara expressed gratitude to the traders for contributing to the state’s economy and development.

He assured the traders that his administration, known for its responsiveness, has taken note of their concerns and emphasized that the market will be equitably allocated to traders, with no interference from politicians.

Sir Fubara specifically recognized the efforts of the Igbo community in Rivers State, acknowledging their contributions to the state’s economic landscape, urging them to continue to pray for his administration in order to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.

Speaking earlier, the President of the Reformed Traders Association of Nigeria, Comrade Dede Chinedu expressed gratitude to Governor Siminalayi Fubara for the unprecedented gesture of recognizing and supporting traders.

He lauded the efforts of the governor in prioritizing the welfare of traders and promised that the traders will continue to rally behind the governor in his programmes and projects to make the State better.

Highlights of the event were the inauguration of Rumuwoji market leaders and the unveiling of Christmas packages donated by the Rivers State Government which inlude; bags of rice, umbrellas, aprons, hampers, and cash gifts.
