Fubara Nominates Super Eagles Goalie, Nwabali, For State Award, Gifts Him N20M

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara generously awarded Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali with a cash gift of N20m for his outstanding performance in the recently concluded 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The ceremony took place at the Executive Council Chambers where the Governor also nominated Nwabali for the Distinguished Service Star of Rivers State (DSSRS) in recognition of his excellence.

Additionally, the Super Eagles’ crew, including Coach Jose Peseiro and Finidi George, were presented with a cash reward of N30m for their hard work during the AFCON tournament.

Governor Fubara also extended his generosity to Rivers Hoopers, the State Basketball Team, by gifting them N50m for emerging as champions of the National Basketball League.

Governor Fubara praised Nwabali for his exceptional goalkeeping skills and expressed gratitude to the people of Rivers State for their support.
