Sapele Visit: Tagbarha Thanks Gov. Oborevwori (Open Letter)
AN OPEN LETTER TO THANK GOVERNOR SHERIFF FRANCIS OROHWEDOR OBOREVWORI, JP
By Malcolm Onajite Tagbarha, FHNR
Your Excellency,
On the 17th of September, 2023, I wrote an open letter to you, wherein I commended you on your achievements during your first 100 days in office, while appealing to you not to forget Sapele, due to its strategic location and symbiotic relationship with Warri. I also wrote another open letter to you on the 25th of October, 2023, appealing to you to personal visit Sapele, to get first hand experience of what Hon.(Chief) Eugene Inoaghan, Chairman, Sapele Local Government Area, has done within his nearly six years in the saddle, and the need for you to support and encourage him by commissioning his legacy projects across the length and breadth of Sapele Local Government Area.
Your Excellency sir, It gladdens my heart that you have proven to be a listening Governor with profound street credibility, because you have not only visited Sapele to see for yourself, you have already kick-started the process of bringing MORE meaningful developments to Sapele.
I was privileged to be amongst those that were right in the sitting room when you visited the octogenarian businessman, Mr Benjamin Oseragbaje, (aka) Apollo, and his bosom friend, the publisher of Vanguard Newspaper Group, Mr Sam Amuka Pemu, on Sunday, 4th of February, 2024, and made the pronouncement, approving the construction of Orhorhor road and Mr Benjamin Aboneje Oseragbaje road,(formerly Hardock road), respectively, both in Sapele, with a firm promise to ensure prompt completion of the projects.
The ladder of success is one step at a time; it takes time to climb to the top. In this regard, you proven beyond doubts that you started well in your quest to advance Delta with your very first few steps, upward the ladder to our glorious destination.

Your Excellency, We recall during your electioneering campaigns, you promised that Warri and Effurun would be given a face-lift, a pledge you also reiterated in your inauguration speech on May 29, 2023 and I quote, “Warri, the commercial nerve centre of the State, will be given special attention under this administration”. A promise you are currently keeping with the announcement of the State Executive Council’s approval for the award of contract worth #78 billion to Construction Giant, Julius Berger Nigeria Limited, for the construction of three flyover bridges, cloverleaf and road expansion. With this masterstroke move, public sentiment supports the trajectory you have chosen. Therefore, It would be no exaggeration to say you are on the right track.
Your Excellency, I am using this medium to profoundly thank you for extending your promise of more meaningful developments to Sapele, the historic ancient city of Midwestern Nigeria, located by the bank of river Ethiope, a city that has given birth to great and outstanding men and women who have risen from relative obscurity to conquer and dominate their contemporaries in different fields of human endeavour, both locally and internationally, equally needs your attention.
Your historic move to renew, regenerate and create new structure for the twin cities of Effurun and Warri, is now being extended to their sister city, Sapele. We are grateful your Excellency sir.
Today, due to the nearly six years of development strides, engendered by Hon.(Chief) Eugene Inoaghan, Sapele Local Government Area is adorning colourful robes like a beautiful bride on her wedding day.
Therefore, I am passionately thanking you on behalf of residents of Sapele Local Government Area, for extending your ‘Midas touch’ of development to simultaneously develop Sapele, alongside her sister cities of Effurun and Warri.
This is why I am writing you this letter as a concerned resident of Sapele, and to also let you know that you have answered the call to greatness with this masterstroke move to develop Effurun, Warri, and Sapele, alongside other cities in Delta State.
THANK YOU SIR!
May God bless you all!
May God bless Sapele Local Government Area!
May God bless Delta State!
