Abel Ideh: Akpowowo Presents 2nd Petition In DTHA

The Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon (Olorogun) Arthur Akpowowo on Tuesday presented a petition on behalf of a constituent, Dr Abel Ideh of the Department of Accounting, Delta State University, DELSU, Abraka, who was sacked by the institution.

Recall that on the 18th of October, 2023, the Deputy Speaker presented a petition (1st petition) from a constituent, Mr Emmanuel Emenitie from Okpara Inland federal ward 4, an accountant with the State Post Primary Education Board, Asaba who was unlawfully sacked in 1999.

After deliberation and diligent review of the petition, all the prayers were granted and Mr Emmanuel Emenitie, the petitioner has since resumed as a Director at the State Post Primary Education Board, Asaba after 24 years of wrongful termination of his appointment.

The petitioner in Tuesday’s petition, Dr Abel Ideh alleged his appointment was wrongly terminated over Delta State University Cooperative Society issue.

He pleaded with the house to intervene and grant him the following prayers;

1. To resolve issues surrounding the unlawful termination of his appointment and be reinstated to his duty post at the Delta State University Abraka.

2. To order the Delta University Cooperative Society to put their books in order.

The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor asked the Deputy Speaker to lay his petition and it was referred to the House Committee on Public Petition for advice!

Dr Abel Ideh is from Abraka federal ward 1, Ethiope East Constituency.
