Ukwuani Inaugurates 8th Assembly, Elects House Leader, Principal Officers

Earlier today, following the proclamation letter transmitted to the Clerk of the Ukwuani Local Government Legislative Arm, Mr. Anamati Charles by the Executive Chairman, Hon (Barr) C.S Possible Ajede inaugurated the Ukwuani 8th Assembly at the Ultra-Modern Legislative Arm Office Complex in the Council.

Shortly after the inauguration of the House, Rt. Hon Durell Kenchoni Ossai was elected the Leader of the House, and Rt. Hon Enefazu Frank Roy Chukwunalu emerged as the Deputy Leader of the House.

Other principal officers of the Ukwuani 8th Assembly include Hon Comr Gabriel Otunuya Ibobo (Majority Leader), Hon Ossai-Ugba Gaventa (Deputy Majority Leader), Hon Ekpenuma Lucky Chukuamaka (Chief Whip), and Hon Ngozi Osakunih-Dafe Sophia (Deputy Chief Whip).

In his brief address, the Leader of Ukwuani 8th Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ossai Kenchoni Durrell, expressed his profound gratitude to the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, for the creation of additional wards across the state, which gave him the opportunity and privilege to become a councillor and to serve his constituency and the Ukwuani people.

He also lauded the Delta State Governor, His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for steadily delivering on the MORE Agenda and for organizing the just concluded LG Elections across the state.

The Leader of the House congratulated the Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon (Barr) C.S Possible Ajede, on his landslide victory at the LG poll and his subsequent inauguration.

He further expressed confidence in the capacity of the Council Boss to do MORE for the Ukwuani people under his administration’s #DoMoreAgenda.

Hon Ossai assured the Chairman and the Ukwuani people that the distinguished honourable members will make laws that will move the local government forward even as he added that under his watch as the Leader of the House, there will be synergy between the Legislative and Executive Arms.

“We shall make bylaws that will move the local government forward and foster synergy with the Executive Arm of the local government,” he said.
