Trump Appoints Susie Wiles As First Woman Chief Of Staff In U.S. History
U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has made history by appointing Susie Wiles as his Chief of Staff, marking the first time a woman will hold this influential position. Wiles, who served as Trump’s campaign manager, will assume the role upon Trump’s return to the White House on January 20.
Trump praised Wiles as a “winner campaign manager” and expressed confidence in her capabilities, saying, “It is a well-deserved honor to have Susie as the first-ever female Chief of Staff in United States history. Susie is tough, smart, innovative, and universally admired and respected.”

The Chief of Staff position, essential to White House operations, involves managing staff, organizing the president’s schedule, and coordinating with government departments and lawmakers. Wiles, credited with steering Trump’s successful campaign, now steps into a role critical to executing the administration’s priorities.
Vice President-elect JD Vance also celebrated Wiles’ appointment, calling it “great news” and highlighting her invaluable contribution to Trump’s campaign, noting that she will be a “huge asset in the White House.”
During his previous term, Trump had four Chiefs of Staff, including retired Army General John Kelly, who later publicly criticized Trump. Kelly notably supported Vice President Kamala Harris in recent political disputes.
Trump’s appointment of Wiles is expected to be the first in a series of key staffing announcements as he prepares for his second term in office.
