Delta PDP Adopts Integrity Group As A Pressure Group Under Its Structure

Chairman, People’s Democratic Party PDP, Delta State, Chief Solomon Arenyeka has said the party under his leadership has officially adopted the Integrity Group under the party in the state saying its obvious that Integrity Group is living up to expectations as a pressure group.

Arenyeka made the declaration at the party secretariat, in Asaba while playing host to members of Integrity Group of Delta State who came on a courtesy visit appealed to the group to maintain standard already set no matter the challenges.

He urged them to discountance rumours of PDP members defecting to other party noting that those purported to have defected to other party have since left the party as many of them work against PDP during the last general elections in 2023.

According to the chairman, PDP as a party is not vindictive hence the doors are open for those willing to come in while it cannot stop those willing to leave as well.

“Without being told it is obvious that Integrity Group is living up to it name. The quality of your members are top notch. I am interested in this group and I have formally adopted this group as one of the pressure group under PDP in Delta state.

“Pressure groups are vehicles to strengthen party structures and for that reason we will support the group to make your job easier. Since 2008, I have been a member of PDP and now, I am a citizen of the party. Therefore, I urge you to remain focused and consistent.” Arenyeka said.

Earlier, the Convener of Integrity Group, Dr Oke Idawene, extolled the open door policy of Arenyeka noting that his humility and accessibility is a virtue,that he should keep it up..

He pointed out that Integrity Group was in his office to formally congratulates him on his emergence as PDP chairman in the state and to also introduce the group to him.

“Our aims and objectives are to propagate the MORE Agenda of governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the You Matter Charity Foundation of the First Lady, Dame Tobore Oborevwori. To work for the actualisation of second term for the governor come 2027.”

According to Idawene, Integrity Group members cut across the 25 LGAs in the state and are fully members of the PDP maintaining that the group is out to assist the party to emerge victorious in future elections in the state.

He said the governor’s achievements in the areas of infrastructures, human capital development and peace building will enable the party reclaim all the National and state Assembly seats in the state.

The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of souvenirs to the Delta State PDP Chairman by the Integrity Group.
