Ethiope East: PDP Chieftain, Orido, Decamps To APC

As part of efforts to take over the mantle of leadership come 2027, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Egbo Ward 10 Kokori, Ethiope East LGA, Delta State, Hon. Ufuoma Orido has officially decamped to the All Progressive Congress (APC), with over 250 PDP members in the ward, saying that PDP as a party has failed the people in all ramifications.

Hon. Ufuoma Orido who is the National Adviser of the Ibori Suenu Grassroot Network (ISGN), while addressing the executive and members of APC in Egbo ward 10 said, “I decamp to APC today for the development of my people,” noting that PDP as a party is not giving the needed development to the people, just as he said:  “l will work to ensure that APC takes over Delta State come 2027 for more development.”

Continuing, he said: “Just imagine what our House of Representative member, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori Suenu is doing across Ethiope Federal constituency, she is doing a very good work of empowering the people of Ethiope Federal constituency, recently at Oghara-Township Stadium a lot of people benefited from her massive empowerment programme, some were empowered with 18 seater buses, Dyna vehicles, Tricycles, Motorcycles and many others.”

Orido also hinted, “before now, many have been voted to represent us at the National Assembly, but we did not feel their impact. The one of Hon. Erhiatake Ibori Suenu has shown that she really means well for us, having gone through her programme of development as a house of representative member, l made up my mind to join her for the crusade of the development she is piloting across the Ethiope Federal Constituency.”

Speaking further, Orido who spoke on behalf of the other decampees assured the party executive of Egbo ward 10 ably led by Mr. Peter Oghojafor and other leaders and elders of the party that, he and other members of PDP who have made up their mind today to decamp to APC will not disappoint the party in any ways re-affirming his commitment to work for the party so as to take over Delta State come 2027.

Receiving the decampees to the party, APC, the ward chairman of APC in ward 10 Mr. Peter Oghojafor commended them for the right choice they have made.

According to him, “we are waiting for you people to have joined us all these while and the time has come today, as you decided to join us, you are already a stakeholders, APC as a party does not segregate as soon as you join, you have the equal right with everybody” Mr. Peter Oghojafor said.

Speaking further, the ward charged them to work hard for the party to win all elections come 2027.

On their part, the Chairman of APC in Ethiope East, Chief Julius Ogboru, the Federal commissioner for Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission representing Delta State Chief (Barr.), Martin Aruviere Egharhevwa, Comrade Julius Omajuwa, leaders of APC in the ward Mr. Ititie Gabriel, in their various goodwill messages commended the decampees for the right steps they have taken.

According to them, “With these crowd we are seeing here today it shows that Egbo ward 10 Kokori is for APC, and APC has been winning Egbo since then, as you join APC is a welcome development which means PDP has died and is buried in Egbo ward 10 through the efforts of Hon. Orido.

They however, called on them to continue to bring out their best to work for the party so as to win all elective positions come 2027 general elections in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

However, the National Chairman of ISGN, Chief Andrew Majemite, SSA to Senator President of Federal Republic of Nigeria who is also the National Financial Secretary of ISGN Hon. Theophilus Asohro, the National Deputy Director Contact and Relations Engr. James Akpoisheri, the ward 6 Chairman of ISGN Mr. Rex Akpokovo, Hon. Efe Akpobaro, Pastor Stephen Emesi leader of APC ward 10, Secretary of the ward Mr. Uyovwaire Bright, Ndidi Richard, Akpoduado Lucky, Dr. Sanubi Lucky Inaya, Hon. Friday Shekwene former councilor ward 12, Mr. Couple Okotie and many others too numerous to mention were also noticed during the decamping ceremony.

High point of the ceremony was the successful presentation of the symbol of the party which is the broom to Hon. Ufuoma Orido by the local government chairman of the party, Chief Julius Ogboru and other decampees.
