Federal Fire Service Gets New Leadership, As Tinubu Approves Appointment Of Olumode Samuel
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Deputy Controller‑General Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new Controller‑General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), effective from 14th August 2025.
The announcement was made by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) through a statement signed by its Secretary, Major General A.M. Jibril (Rtd.).
This appointment comes in view of the upcoming retirement of the current Controller‑General, Engr. Jaji Olola Abdulganiyu, who will be stepping down in mid-August upon reaching the statutory retirement age of 60.

DCG Adeyemi is a seasoned fire service professional with a career that spans both the FCT Fire Service and the Federal Fire Service. He most recently served as Deputy Controller‑General in charge of Administrative and Supply at the Service Headquarters. He has undergone numerous professional and leadership trainings, both locally and internationally, and is recognized for his administrative competence.
He is a member of various professional organizations, including:
* Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN)
* Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria
* Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria
* Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria
The CDCFIB extended its appreciation to the outgoing Controller‑General for his contributions and achievements during his tenure, acknowledging his role in advancing reforms and strengthening operational capacity within the service.
