Isoko North LG Chairman Denies Backing Any Aspirant Ahead Of APC Primaries

The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has distanced himself from reports suggesting that his political appointees are endorsing or mobilising support for any aspirant on his behalf ahead of the forthcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries.

In a statement issued by his Director of Media, Ikrumale Monday Gideon, the chairman said he has no preferred candidate and has not authorised any individual or group to canvass support, seek endorsements, or act in his name for any aspirant seeking elective office.

Ogorugba described the reports as misleading and said the clarification became necessary due to growing misconceptions and unfounded assumptions surrounding his position ahead of the party primaries.

He stressed that as the duly elected chairman of Isoko North Local Government, he remains committed to neutrality and the principles of fairness, unity, and due process within the party.

According to him, he is prepared to support any candidate who emerges through either consensus arrangements or open primaries, depending on the method adopted by the All Progressives Congress.

The chairman also warned political appointees and associates against engaging in partisan activities while claiming to represent his interests, stating that anyone doing so without his approval should be ready to relinquish their position.

He emphasized that public office must not be used to mislead the public or pursue personal political ambitions under false pretences.

Hon. Ogorugba reaffirmed his commitment to unity, discipline, and the integrity of the party, while urging stakeholders to act responsibly in the collective interest of peace and progress in Isoko North.
