Delta-Born Princess Ziregbe Eshemitan Emerges UNICAL Best Graduating Student
Princess Ziregbe Eshemitan, a Delta-born medical graduate and daughter of the Ovie of Oghara Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Orefe III, Uku Oghara Na’Me, has emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student in the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Cross River State.
The outstanding achievement was announced during the university’s 56th Physicians’ Oath-Taking Ceremony held at the Goodwill Akpabio International Conference Centre, Calabar, where medical and dental graduates were formally inducted into the medical profession.
In recognition of her exceptional academic performance, Princess Ziregbe was awarded the Provost’s Prize for the Overall Best Graduating Student in MBBS. She also received the Dr. Obal Ofu Medal as the Best Graduating Student in Internal Medicine with Distinction.
Her accomplishment has been widely hailed as a testament to faith, dedication, resilience and academic excellence, earning her admiration from colleagues, lecturers and well-wishers.
By emerging as the overall best graduating student, Princess Ziregbe has become an inspiration to young people, especially women, across Delta State and beyond, demonstrating that excellence and hard work remain pathways to success.

The Ovie of Oghara Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Orefe III, Uku Oghara Na’Me, alongside the Queen, Her Royal Majesty Iyobo Eshemitan, and sons and daughters of Oghara Kingdom, were present at the induction ceremony to celebrate the remarkable milestone.
Congratulatory messages have continued to pour in for the new medical doctor, with many describing her achievement as a source of pride for Oghara Kingdom, Delta State and Nigeria.
