Courtesy Visit: DELSU PGSAN Meets SDU Vice-Chancellor

Earlier today, the Executive Council and members of the Delta State University Postgraduate Students’ Association (PGSAN) paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Southern Delta University (SDU), Ozoro, Professor Sunny Awhefeada.

The delegation, led by the President of DELSU PGSAN, Pastor Caleb Ivworin, was warmly received by Professor Awhefeada at his office.

Speaking during the visit, Pastor Ivworin stated that the purpose of the visit was to officially congratulate Professor Awhefeada on his appointment and assumption of office as the Vice-Chancellor of Southern Delta University, Ozoro.

He noted that the appointment was particularly significant because Professor Awhefeada was the immediate past Dean of the Delta State University Postgraduate School and received the appointment while serving in that capacity.

He described the appointment as a “supernatural upliftment,” adding that Professor Awhefeada is not only well qualified for the position but also the right leader to steer Southern Delta University to greater heights through his transformative, transparent, and visionary leadership, qualities he had already demonstrated during his tenure at DELSU.

In his response, Professor Awhefeada expressed appreciation to the DELSU Postgraduate Students’ Association for the thoughtful visit.

He poured encomiums on the postgraduate students for their show of solidarity and encouraged stronger collaboration between both institutions.

The Vice-Chancellor also emphasized the importance of academic excellence, describing education as the bedrock of every progressive society and urging students to remain committed to scholarship, research, and innovation.

The visit reached its climax with the presentation of a framed portrait photograph to Professor Awhefeada on behalf of the DELSU Postgraduate Students’ Association as a token of appreciation and goodwill.
