JAMB To Candidates: Fix NIN Errors Or Risk Result Rejection

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions that discrepancies between their National Identification Number (NIN) details and O’Level records could lead to the rejection or delayed verification of their results.

The warning affects candidates uploading results from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), National Examinations Council (NECO) and National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) on the JAMB e-Facility platform.

JAMB urged candidates to ensure that their personal information, including full names and dates of birth, corresponds across their NIN, JAMB profile and O’Level examination records before uploading their results.

The Board identified common discrepancies that could create problems during verification to include differences in the spelling or arrangement of names, omission of middle names and conflicting dates of birth.

Candidates were also advised to ensure that the grades contained in their submitted results are genuine and verifiable with the relevant examination bodies, warning that false, altered or unverified results could be rejected.

JAMB said candidates who discover discrepancies should resolve them through the appropriate official channels, including authorised National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) centres or JAMB-approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, where applicable, before attempting to upload their results.

The Board further cautioned candidates against patronising unofficial agents or individuals claiming to have special access to JAMB systems for biodata correction or result uploads.

According to JAMB, early resolution of discrepancies would help candidates avoid unnecessary complications during O’Level result verification, admission and screening processes.

The Board therefore urged all candidates to carefully cross-check their NIN, JAMB and O’Level records and ensure that all details are accurate and consistent before uploading their results.
