459 Ugboba Indigenes Benefit From OMIWA Foundation, AMPF Free Health Programme

A total of 459 patients have benefitted from the free medical outreach organised at Ugboba community hall in Aniocha North LGA of Delta State, by OMIWA Foundation in collaboration with the Anioma Medical Professionals Forum On Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th September, 2021.

The Traditional Ruler of Ugboba, HRM Agbogidi Obi Ezedimbu Nkebakwu sent a word of commendation to the organisers through his representative, Prince E.K. Kwufodu.

He appreciated OMIWA Foundation and AMPF for their grassroots based health initiatives that had wriggled many out of the bondage of health challenges without money to go for treatment.

Obi Nkebakwu called on government, corporate organisations and well meaning individuals to support the efforts of these NGOs mainstreaming free rural health initiatives for the benefit of the poor local masses; insisting that OMIWA Foundation and AMPF deserve accolades from every community they had positively touched in Anioma Nation.

The immediate past Aniocha North Council Chairman and indigene of Ugboba, Hon. Chuks Oseme was also on ground to give credence to the humanitarian service taking place in his community.

He was full of praises for the two prominent NGOs helping the communities of Anioma to benefit from various free medical programmes within their numerous services.

Commending the people of Ugboba for their cooperation in turning out for the medical outreach, the Project Coordinator of OMIWA Foundation, Mr. Tohan Okenyi said, engaging communities within Anioma on medical missions is a deliberate policy of the Foundation.

He affirmed that in a couple of one year, the Foundation in partnership with AMPF had covered so many communities in Aniocha North while hoping to round off and move to other local government areas in Anioma.

“Carrying out medical outreaches to alleviate the health challenges of people in our communities is a divine vision and mission. It is an expensive venture, tasking and enduring; but we are pleased to engage in it.

“We are not regretting it at all. It’s our belief in OMIWA Foundation that God who has directed us on this path, will always endow us with the grace to accomplish the task of raising funds and manpower to carry out these Health Projects”, Okenyi stated.

On his part, the Founder and President of Anioma Medical Professionals Forum, Dr. Alexander Awunor gave thanks to God for the grace, ability and strength to carry out these medical missions whenever there is call for humanitarian service.

He said in spite of the herculean task of discharging his duties as a medical doctor to his employer, he and others in his team still find the inner urge and passion to give back to society in the aspect of attending to their health needs.

His words, “It gives us great joy each time we see smiles on people’s faces after being cured of an ailment or undergoing a successful surgery.

“Basically, the underlying joy in all of these that we do is seeing people happy and saying thank you. Doctors are saviours to others and we thank God for the opportunity to save lives when the need arises.

“It is also said that health is wealth; you can imagine the enormous benefits to an individual, family or society when they are beaming in sound health”, Awunor explained.

It was indeed a good time out at Ugboba as the newly crowned Miss Issele-Uku Beauty Pageant, Queen Ikezue Gloria Ifeanyi came to support the rural health programme by OMIWA Foundation and AMPF in Ugboba. She made it clear that it is imperative for every right thinking and compassionate individual to support the project, adding that as a promoter of Culture and Tourism, and as an advocate of peace, health and education, she has no choice but to key into such initiatives.

The Queen was accompanied by Miss Ogbogu Promise and Miss Adione Immaculate to observe and boost the morale of the organisers, while also using the platform to showcase and market the culture that binds every Anioma person together.
