Commissioner For Lands And Urban Development In Enugu Resigns, Blasts Governor

Honorable Commissioner for Land and Urban Development, Enugu State, Surv. Victor Chukwuemeka, has resigned from office.

A resignation letter by Surv. Chukwuemeka addressed to the governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, dated 29th October, 2021, said the decision was based on the recent removal of professional heads of department under him.

He said that those removed “was based on punitive grounds for doing their jobs diligently.”

He added: “My conscience will no longer allow me to continue to serve your administration while those innocent professional senior civil servants are punished for doing the right thing.”

According to him, he had high hopes of bringing in the world best practice in land administration for Enugu State.

Adding that his first disappointment was when his proposal for the establishment of GIS land administration system in the ministry to stamp out land grabbers and create investors’ confidence for the state was rejected without explanation till date.

He submitted his resignation letter along with the official black Prado SUV.
