Apology Letter: Okowa’s Aide Begs For Latimore’s Reappointment, Tackles Former EAC
Says Hypocrites And Sycophants Constitute 80 Percent Of Appointees In Government

Executive Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Community Relations, Chief David Omoru, has appealed to his boss to consider the reappointment of Barr. Fred Latimore after his appointment as the Executive Assistant on Communication was terminated over his insubordination and recklessness.
Omoru is also the National Coordinator, 3rd Force 2023, a political pressure group.
Recall that Latimore in an apology letter on Sunday begged the governor for forgiveness after he was sacked, saying he will remain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and stay loyal to the Okowa administration.

Reacting to the former governor’s aide apology letter, Chief Omoru frowned at the content of his reaction to his sack by the Governor, but opined that the sacked aide would have learnt his lessons from all he has gone through so far.
Omoru who wrote on his Facebook page, added: “At the minimum sir, kindly place him on suspension for 2 months as you have done for some of your aides who goofed in the past. Sir, sycophants are too many in this government and they have no business in government than to pretend to be loyal. Blackmail is their trade mark and always ready to tell His Excellency what he wants to hear but behind these same people are vipers. If His Excellency hears what people say behind, he will have no option but to fire everyone on his pay roll.”
According to him, “hypocrites and sycophants constitute 80 percent of appointees in government.”

Meanwhile, he described Barr. Latomore as one “very inconsistent with his services and would always justify his actions on pecuniary motives, saying that “men of substance don’t go the way he went.”
Adding: “I bet you, if the Governor reappoints him, he will sing a new song as if he was under a strange spirit when he wrote all the ‘negatives’against the governor and his tribesmen.”
He advised everyone who writes for public consumption to desist from writing and publishing what they cannot defend, adding “once you publish, be bold enough to own up no matter who is involved.”
He continued: “Contrary to paragraph 6 of his apology, he has failed to understand the ethics of journalism and as a lawyer, he would have known that he has demonstrated gross incompetence by arrogating to himself the role of the Chief Press Secretary to the governor. His role was basically to educate the public about government policies and programs and not playing a role of an attack dog. Yes, he had issues with his package as an EAC but let it be known that there are Executive Assistants who played key role in the making of this Government in 2015 and are far more committed to this government yet have no office space to operate from not to talk of getting approvals.
“The governor from my findings has in past 5 years approved several requests for him for seminars, workshops and training within and outside the state and that was the highest an EAC should expect. Politics and government is very deep and so whatever anyone gets, let him or her take it in good faith. Everyone cannot be lucky same time. The truth is that a successful politician is he who is able to pass through the thick and thin, the good, bad and the ugly situations. The one who believes tomorrow will be better than today, the one who understands that God gives power not man. The one who prays for others to grow and when they grow expects them to remember him and above all one who has the fear of God, one who is not greedy, nepotistic, evil, wicked and selfish.”
