FG Suspended Subsidy Removal To Secure Victory In 2023 – CMGG

The National President of Christian Movement for Good Governance (CMGG) Hon. Rev. Linus Okhuemoi (Bishop-Elect) has said that the Federal Government of Nigeria led by All Progressives Congress (APC) has applied wisdom to suspend the proposed removal of petroleum subsidy to have a smooth election in 2023.

Bishop Okhuemoi who said this during the first 2022 general meeting of the Association at Agbarho Town in Ughelli North L.G.A of Delta State further said that APC wisdom was targeted at securing victory in the 2023 presidential election.

He pointed out that, APC thought it wise to stop the implementation of the subsidy removal now, adding that if implemented, no APC candidate would win in 2023 elections because the removal will aggravate the anger of the impoverished Nigerian masses.

Bishop Okhuemoi noted that CMGG is not working for any political party but ready to support credible candidate(s) irrespective of political party affiliation, stressing that we need to vote for a person with credibility, focus, viable, masses-oriented programme, vision and determination to rescue Nigerians from poverty and spread the dividends of democracy to all.

According to him “The Church will continue to encourage its members nationwide to register and obtain voters’ cards.

“We want our members to always vote at any election to have good government in Nigeria.

“We need our people (Christians) to be in power. Life is about win and lose, if you lose today, don’t give up, because you may win tomorrow. We should not fold our arms in CMGG when it comes to politics because the leaders you voted to power are those who will decide for you. CMGG is purely for good governance” he added.

CMGG president clearly stated that the association does not belong to any political party but, ready to identify a genuine and resourceful candidate that could improve the quality of life of Nigerians and spread the dividends of democracy to all Nigerians, noting that CMGG remains neutral so that all political parties can access it.

“Neither APC, PDP, APGA, AA, ADP, AD, SDP own CMGG, that is why we are ready to work for any credible candidate(s).

Politics is not for unbelievers alone, born again Christians should indicate interest and contest any political position”.

He affirmed that to enthrone genuine, credible and resourceful leaders in Nigeria remains the target of CMGG, but warn Nigerians not to sell their votes but identify a viable and resourceful candidate that will improve quality of life and give a purposeful leadership through welfare, employment, security, good economy and restoration of hope to the people.

“Members of CMGG are free to belong to any political party and free to vote for candidates of their choice. In CMGG all parties are equal.”.
