A leading Peoples Democratic Party( PDP) Uvwie Local Government Council chairmanship aspirant, Chief Austin Tivere Ukuwrere has promised to improve on the achievements so far recorded by the Executive Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council , Hon Tega Onoyake if voted as chairman of the local government council.

Ukuwrere who is the immediate past President General of Uvwie General Improvement Union (UGIU) made the promise during his consultation visit to Delta State Chairman of Board of Internal Revenue, Chief Hon Solomon Okporua Ighrakpata in Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area last weekend.

Ukuwrere stated that his achievements as the president general of the apex socio cultural body in Uvwie Kingdom were testimonies of the fact that he has what it takes to take Uvwie Local Government Area to greater heights if elected as chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council.

The Alaka Quarters born political icon also stated that he served others as a loyal and committed party member.

He therefore humbly pleaded that he should be given the opportunity to serve the party and indeed Uvwie residents as the Uvwie Local Government Council chairman.

” That is why I am here to humbly ask for your prayers and blessings as my political father ” he added..

The former Senior Special Assistant ( SSA )to former Governor Okowa on Community Development seized the opportunity to deny insinuations that he worked against Chief Ighrakpata when he contested for Uvwie Constituency at Delta State House of Assembly in the last general elections as he dared any person in the local government area to prove him wrong just as he stressed that Chief Solomon Okporua Ighrakpata was his political father.

In his response, Chief Ighrakpata stated among other things that Chief Ukuwrere should work hard to actualise his political ambition.

Ukuwrere was accompanied on the visit by some PDP chieftains, chiefs, women, youths and non indigenes. This probably prompted Chief Ighrakpata to remark that the leading PDP Uvwie Local Government Council chairmanship aspirant has a large followership as he noted that the followership of the Ugo ( The Eagle ) of Uvwie Kingdom was overwhelming.

The former lawmaker appreciated Chief Ukuwrere for the visit.

High point of the event was a special prayer said by Chief Ighrakpata for Chief Ukuwrere.
