Akpowowo Attends 16th DELSU Convocation

The Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon (Olorogun) Arthur Akpowowo Esq. today Saturday, 27th April, 2024, attended the 16th convocation ceremony of the Delta State University, Abraka.
A grand total of 4,776 Post graduate degrees, First Class degrees and diploma certificates were awarded for the 2022/2023 academic session, as 54 bagged First Class.
In his address, the Vice Chancellor of Delta State University, Professor Andy O. Egwuyenga, said, “He’s grateful to God almighty for making today a reality and also gave a wonderful account of himself as the head of the ivory tower, saying in spite of challenges, his administration has achieved so much in both academic activities and project delivery.
The University Visitor, the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, in his address, gave a good account of how the state has immensely contributed to the growth and development of institutions and assured the school to do more.
The Governor also granted the request of the overall best graduating student, Joshua Ilebe of the Faculty of Pharmacy and promised to reach out to the second and third best graduating students through the Vice Chancellor, Professor Egwuyenga.

Highlights of thw convocation ceremony was the investiture of Professor Emeritus on Professor Chukwuemeka Peter Aloamaka and the conferment of Honorary Doctor of Letters on Professor Sam White Oyovbaire and presentation of various prices and awards to overall best graduating students and other best graduating students at both faculty and departmental levels.
