DSP Omo-Agege Vs Keyamo: More Crisis As Delta APC Accuses Labour Minister Of Anti-Party Activities

Ahead of September 11, 2021, Isoko South 1 bye-election in Delta State, it appears that the All Progressives Congress (APC) are yet to learn their lessons as some of their leaders have opted to support a different candidate in one of the opposition political parties in the State, Worldtopnewsng reports.

The party leadership in the State, accused the Honourable Minister of State, Labour & Employment, Festus Keyamo, of anti-party activities in his fierce battle for Delta APC leadership with the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege.

It is being alleged that while some groups perceived to be DSP Omo-Agege’s faction were busy conducting primaries in Isoko South, Keyamo, had allegedly gone ahead to negotiate with the National Chairman of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in a bid to secure the party’s ticket for his preferred candidate, MC Paul Emumena Michael.

Worldtopnewsng gathered that Keyamo allegedly vowed that he will do everything within his powers to secure victory for the SDP candidate, pleaded with the party Chairman to negotiate with other opposition political parties through their National headquarters to secure their forms and support SDP and his candidate MC Paul Michael in achieving a common goal.

A top APC chieftain who spoke with Worldtopnewsng on condition of anonymity accused the Minister of anti-party. “Fine! from your question you may not be far from the truth. We all know that MC Paul is a good and popular candidate who can beat any other party in Isoko South 1 including anybody that PDP is bringing as a candidate but for me, it’s quite a pity and unfortunate with the recent development in Isoko South 1 Bye-election. This shows that APC Delta State may be heading towards electoral doom,” the party chieftain said.

The party chieftain further disclosed that the Minister is not alone in this as they gathered that it was a gang up with the likes of former Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Victor Ochei and Great Ogboru to disgrace the DSP Omo-Agege.

As at the time of filing this report, all efforts to reach Keyamo, the candidate of SDP and even DSP Omo-Agege proved abortive.

There are several unconfirmed reports of serious rumbles within the APC and Deltans are left to wonder what exactly is amiss.

Meanwhile, the Bye-election is running the political temperature of Delta State so high at the moment as the political bigwigs in the state consider it a test run for the 2023 governorship election.
