Egwunyenga, Committed To Building Strong, Efficient, Highly Motivated Workforce — Ogomudia

Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Delta State University, DELSU, Abraka, General Alexander Ogomudia has said that his interactions with staff and the public on assumption of office have shown that Professor Andy Egwunyenga has been committed to building a strong, efficient and highly motivated workforce as Vice Chancellor.

He said this while delivering his address during the 2024 Registry Lecture event in honour of the VC.

According to him, when workers are satisfied, the output is clear for all to see.

He continued: “From the gathering today I see a satisfied workforce and the calendar of a University that is at peace and stable.”

Continuing, he assured that he will support and ensure that staff friendly policies and decisions are speedily considered and approved.

“You are therefore encouraged to always put in your best to make DELSU great,” he urged staff.

Meanwhile he said that he was delighted to be a part of the landmark occasion, saying that the event was meant to emphasize the importance of training for the performance and efficiency of staff of the Registry Department, to honour Professor Egwunyenga for laying a solid foundation for the Registry and the general administration of DELSU.

Adding: “And also, the unveiling of the Delta State University Registry Manual.”

Ogomudia  said “in academic and geopolitical consideration, Delta State University has come a long way being a Premier State University.”

Meanwhile, he congratulated the Registrar, Mrs. Rufina Ufiofio for the initiative and particularly for the invitation of the guest lecturers who he said are great scholars in their own right.

Furthermore, he appreciated the Governor and Visitor, His Excellency, Rt. Honorable Sheriff Francis Oborevwori for his undaunted commitment to the growth and development of the University as well as providing the enabling environment and funding for the University to soar.

“The Ministry for Higher Education, is also appreciated for its oversight function,” he added.
