Attempts To Malign Sokoto Govt. Will Fail
Senior Special Assistant to the Sokoto State Governor on New Media, Alhaji Nasiru Bazzah, has warned members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State not to distract the governor from delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Sokoto.
Bazzah, in a press statement in Sokoto, said all attempts to malign the character of his boss will fail woefully.
He insisted that the governor’s cherished infrastructural and human capital development achievements within just a year of steering the affairs of Sokoto are sending fears into the camp of his opposition and detractors.

The statement, titled “Addressing Media Misinformation and the Real Story Behind Tambuwal’s Aide’s Arrest,” noted that “any reasonable person can deduce that there is a deliberate attempt to malign the character of the governor, and this attempt has undoubtedly failed.”
The spokesperson debunked the narrative that Shafi’u Umar, an aide to former Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, was detained on the orders of the state governor.
“The Sokoto State Government wishes to clarify the circumstances surrounding the recent arrest of former Governor Tambuwal’s aide. Contrary to the speculative narratives being spread, the arrest was conducted within the framework of lawful procedures and is connected to specific actions that are currently under investigation.”
“While it is understandable that our political opponents are frustrated and desperate in their attempts to undermine and deny the undeniable achievements of the Ahmad Aliyu administration, we must call on the professionals among them to caution individuals within their ranks to adhere to the principles of decorum and good judgment.”
“It is important to emphasize that this situation is being handled with the utmost respect for due process, and all relevant facts will be thoroughly examined by the appropriate authorities.”
“The dissemination of misinformation not only misleads the public but also undermines the integrity of the judicial process. The video being circulated does not depict the governor’s wife spraying cash, nor was it taken at a birthday party.”
“As a tradition, Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and his family do not celebrate birthdays. Rather, they regard these occasions as periods for reflection and prayer. Therefore, it should have been properly verified before publication.”
