In this exclusive interview with Oasis Magazine (OM), Tuedor briefly explains why he is committed to the spread of the knowledge of crptocurrency, amongst other related issues.  

What is Cryptocurrency and why have you given yourself to spreading the message of digital currency?    

Cryptocurrency is the current stage in the evolution of money. Money is now digital as there is no gainsaying the fact that the world has gone digital. Many may not know, but there is a huge void needed to be filled in terms of Global Payment Solutions and cryptocurrency has currently shown that it is well poised to do that. It is a paradigm shift from what we traditionally know in payments, banking systems and the way we generally do business.

Why have you given yourself to the spread of the message of digital currency? 

I started exploring cryptocurrency after a well researched effort before coming to the conclusion that it is where the world is currently headed to. In the words of Bill Gates, my mentor, “The secret to wealth is to look for where the world is going to, and get there first”…cryptocurrency is here to stay and I will have you know that it is an industry currently worth over 117 billion dollars of the world money, something which was just worth 20billion dollars a year ago. As more people invest and keep their wealth in cryptocoins, a large void will be created in the banking system and other investment portfolios which will lead to a collapse of many industries we see today. Mark my words; the next recession coming will destroy lots of traditional investment portfolios and the banking system as we know it today. But this should not make us worry because the birth of digital currency will bring about a new set of billionaires and millionaires. The wealth of the world will change hands and humans will have found and adopted a new way of doing business where you can be your own bank. My passion is to spread the knowledge of cryptocurrency to all who care to listen and then guide them in investing in it for a better tomorrow because as we speak, it is one of the hottest financial tools since 2009 with so many persons cashing in millions from hundred dollar investments.

In all your journeys across Nigeria geared towards wooing others to embrace this concept, what has been the response rate; are you satisfied?

Nigerians are educated and the wise ones are keying into this concept. Cryptocurrency is 9 years in existence and so many people have seen its benefits. It is only a matter of time before it erodes the way we humans generally do business. It is very profitable to invest in it now and hold those coins in value while they are cheap to get because they will surely increase in value.

Is Nigeria, compared to other African countries ahead in the embrace of digital currency?

No! We are not. South Africa and Kenya have gone far in embracing cryptocurrency and Mpesa is mostly used now in Kenya for transactions as we speak. Blockchain experts have been brought in and put to work in order to create a blockchain enabled service. Our CBN has just started holding seminars and conferences to discuss digital currency, the blockchain and the banking industry. We wish them well.

Are there risks associated with cryptocurrency?

Yes of course, like any other investment portfolio (e.g shares, stocks, bonds, real estate) there are risks. In this life, it is a matter of no risk, no reward. You stand the risk of a price drop in the value of a digital currency, e.g. Bitcoin. But, a better cryptocurrency is already in the offing which is more stable and offers an unshakable cloud system combined with a KYC (Know_Your_Customer) on the Blockchain thereby making it safer and simpler to use.

In conclusion, I will say that to become successful, you need to do the following:

• DECIDE – while others are delaying.
• PREPARE – while others are daydreaming.
• BEGIN – while others are procrastinating.

• LISTEN – while others are talking.
• SMILE – while others are frowning.
• COMMEND – while others are criticizing.
• PERSIST – while others are quitting.
