The Chairmanship candidate for All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ethiope East Local Government, Chief Alex Imarah has alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the area are pushing for the cancellation and possible postponement of the election.
Reacting to developments in the council, he added that the Ethiope Federal Constituency House of Reps Member, Hon. Lovette Idisi and the Ethiope East Constituency representing the local government in Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Evance Ivwurie, imported thugs that are at the moment shooting sporadically to scare away his agents from DSIEC office in Isiokolo.
He continued: “The thugs were imported because I know that Ethiope East people are peace loving. I want the elections to hold because I am prepared. But, PDP are not ready, hence they are diing this to pressure DSIEC to postpone the election.”
Attempts by this reporter to reach Idisi and Ivwurie proved abortive, as they did not pick their calls, nor reply text messages sent to them.
At the time of filing this report, when Oasis Magazine visited some polling units, electoral materials were yet to be received, as voters were seen loitering voting centres in Abraka and its environs.
