Lab Technician, 36, Dies Of Suspected Drug Overdose In Abraka
A laboratory technician, Johnson Osawonyi, aged 36, who worked with one of the popular medical laboratories (name withheld) in Abraka, was found dead lying face down in the early hours of Friday, February 2, 2018, in his rented apartment at Ejiko Close in the University town of Abraka.
Oasis Magazine (OM) gathered that Late Osawonyi’s death is considered a result of drug overdose, as the bed where he lay had assorted drugs on it too.
According to sources, the door of the deceased was forced open after neighbours wondered why he (Osawonyi) was yet to step out of his apartment and go to work as his custom was.
Our sources added that no mark of violence was seen on the corpse.
While some said the drugs were treatment for Malaria, others said they were pain relievers.
We learnt that the corpse has since been deposited in a mortuary in Abraka, as the family of the deceased have been contacted by members of his church and are expected in town tomorrow.
At the time of filing this report, police investigation was still ongoing to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of Osawonyi.
One of our sources who does not want his identity disclosed described the decease as a nice guy and a faithful member of Christ Embassy Church, Abraka.
