Good Upbringing, Key to Good Leadership, Responsible Citizenship, Says Hope George
The Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Youth Development, Comrade Hope George, has said that good upbringing is the key to good leadership and responsible citizenship.
Comrade George said this today in Asaba, while presenting a keynote address at the Delta State Scout Council one-daycCapacity workshop on Sustainable Development Goals to mark the 2018 Africa Scout Day celebration in Delta State.
The SSA said for you to be a responsible leader of tomorrow, you must have a good moral upbringing, adding that voluntary organisations such as the Scout has helped to build a lot of leaders.
He commended the Scout leadership for working in line with the SMART Agenda of the Okowa-led administration.
The Governor’s aide who is a member of the Management Committee of the Delta State Scout Council, called on parents/guidance to allow their children join voluntary youth organisations instead of secret societies.
Comrade George informed the gathering that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has inspired the younger generation through his SMART Agenda.
The Celebration which was themed: “Uniting Young People Through Scouting,” witnessed the investiture of the Honorable Commissioner for Youth Development, Delta State, Chief Oghenekaro Ilolo as Patron of the Delta State Scout Council.
The investiture was performed by the Chief Judge of Delta State, Justice Umukoro Mashal who is also the State President of the Delta State Scout Council.
