Driver Involved In Fatal Bob Izua Bus Crash Remanded In Sapele Prison
A driver with Bob Izua Motors, Philips Lucky, has been remanded in Sapele Prison for dangerous driving.
Lucky, who was arraigned at the Erho Magistrate Court two days ago, will appear in court on the 19th of June, 2018, when the case comes up for hearing.
About a week ago, Lucky was on his way to Abraka from Benin when over 10 passengers narrowly escaped been burnt to death, as three of the said passengers were burnt beyond recognition after the driver swerved of his lane, somersaulted and burst into flames.
Lucky was said to have tried to avoid a pothole. The accident happened at the outskirt of Abraka, as they descended down the bridge. However, police sources said that the driver during his statements claimed that it was an issue of tyre burst.
One of the deceased, Jennifer, is said to be a student of Delta State University, Abraka.
The corpses of the deceased at the time of filing this report are still in the mortuary.
