INEC’s Shift Of The Elections Has Postponed My Victory Dance, Says Chief Oweh

The candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for Ethiope Federal Constituency, Chief Alex Oweh, has said that he sees the shift of the Presidential/National Assembly elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as the postponement of his victory dance, saying that he is sure that the electorates would vote massively for him.

Chief Oweh who spoke recently to journalists in his Erho residence in Ethiope East Local Government Area, described the action of INEC as “an international disgrace and a national disaster.”

He called on Nigerians to pray for the country, adding that he believes that the INEC Chairman means well for the country, but his problem is the pressure on him from the ruling party to do their biddings.

According to him, the postponement was done because what the umpire planned to do to shortchange many candidates seemed impossible and thus they had a rethink.

He said: “Many of us have lived abroad for many years and we know how things work out there and that is why we have decided to contribute our own quota to this country.

“If voted in, I will do things differently and make laws that will benefit my people. At the moment, I am the only credible candidate in the House of Reps contest from Ethiope East since a court of competent jurisdiction has said that Agoda, and not Edojah (who is from Ethiope East) is the APC candidate. This makes me sure that the people from Ethiope East will stand by me.

“What is happening in APC is a plus for me. I have supporters across party lines. I have been endorsed by the fathers and leaders of Ethiope Federal Constituency.”

He called on the electorates not to be discouraged, but turn out en masse on Saturday to vote for him and other credible candidates.

Furthermore, he scored the APC-led government low on performance, saying that they have failed to fulfill their promise of change to Nigerians.
